Sarah is currently the Environmental Sustainability Programme Director in Unilever’s Safety and Environmental Assurance Centre (SEAC). She is responsible for the development and execution of Unilever’s environmental sustainability science strategy and for the application of science to inform business decision-making with expert knowledge of environmental sustainability issues especially related to fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), agricultural systems, bio-based/renewable ingredients and issues of land use and land-use change.

Sarah has a track record in the development and application of approaches to assess the environmental impacts of technologies, products and organisations, including Life Cycle approaches, predictive and spatial modelling, biodiversity and ecosystem indicators. She leads various collaborative research projects with world-class universities and holds an EngD in Environmental technology from the University of Surrey; doctoral research was conducted based at Marks & Spencer and focused on the sustainability of food supply chains.
